new audio issue - SOLVED

When I open Platinum, a window comes up that says, "The default audio format is not compatible with one or more sound cards.  It's been reset to 16-bit as suggested by driver."

I close it, and my audio is fine.   It only started doing this after correcting my other audio issue.  I do have sound.  But I don't know how to correct the issue.  Every time I open Sonar the window pops up.   Suggestions?

Thanks,
Greg

It probably means something in your project (a 24 bit wave file) is not compatible with your soundcard.
Did you drag in an audio sample ?

Are you sure your using the Focusrite driver ?

In your "solved " thread you said you changed all the devices to Friendly names? That should not have really fixed your problem other than now you might recognize what something is on an input and output list. But it has no bearing on the audio set up itself. So you must still have something out of place in your settings.

What might help us at this point is a few screen shots of your Audio settings in Preferences. This one and driver settings. Also the midi devices.

If you don't know how to make a screen shot
Use ALT / Prt Scn to capture and  paste into PAINT. Then post on IMGUR    https://imgur.com/

If you use One Drive or Drop Box Alt /Prtscn will automatically place the shot in a special folder.

In the Driver Mode, it said something like the photo:  WASAP (I think).  Anyway, I changed it to ASIO, and the window no longer comes up and I have sound.  So I guess that's a good thing.

    Thanks!

That message pops up a lot when shifting driver modes, especially from ASIO to another.

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.
