How to raise every track simultaneously and have automation follow

How would I raise every track simultaneously and have the automation that is on some tracks follow appropriately. I used grouping all tracks together which did move all tracks up in volume with the adjustment of just one fader which is what I want, but somehow the automation would mess it up. I'm trying to up the volume on every track together and have automation levels also go up.

P.S. How do you make the title heading of posts bold?
Thanks, Paul

First, you may not need to do that since the precision of intermediate files and calculations means you can raise the volume at the final bus and get numerical results that are clean.

But to do what you want, you can group all the audio tracks as you did, switch into "offset mode", raise one of the faders, then switch back out of offset mode (back into what is called "envelope mode"). Offset mode operates the track sliders as offsets added to whatever is happening in envelope mode. So it can work like changing the automation envelopes by a constant. Offset mode is accessed by the offset mode button in the Control Bar’s Mix module.

Check out the manual. Here are some excerpts:

There are two modes which control how your volume faders, pan faders, bus send faders, and bus send pan faders behave during playback. The two modes are Envelope mode and Offset mode.
...
In Offset mode, all controls that can be offset appear with a plus sign. For example Vol+.

If it's a whole song that you found the level was too low, you use the busses to fix that.
Put a brickwall limiter on the mater buss and hit it a little harder.

Yep, offset mode is the way to go

  1. Engage offset mode
  2. Select ALL tracks you want raised
  3. Whilst holding the control key, raise ONE fader by the amount you want
  4. Disengage offset mode (VERY important)

Another way would be to raise/lower gain knobs on selected channels. Not the best workaround, as it may interfere with compressor/saturation plugin settings. But sometimes it works fine.

Offset mode; I learned something significant today. On audio tracks, I used to select all clips and add 3db gain. Not anymore, thanks!

Offset mode is very handy for fixing gain issues but sometimes you can't get enough if your automation isa set very low to begin with.  you also COULD highlight all the volume envelopes by selecting all tracks you want for the full length of the project and then subsequently selecting the volume automation for all (using cntrl as well)  You should then see all the volume envelopes and nodes in them highlighted.   Then while holding "shift" (which forces SONAR to maintain the relative positions of the automation or anything you move around) drag one of the nodes up and they will ALL follow.  You can do this for any number of tracks including all of them.   I'm not actually doing it as I am explaining but this is pretty close as to how to do it
