Audio to Midi Not Working

Trying to get a transcription of a rather simple guitar lick on SONAR Platinum 23.10.0, Build 14.  Per online (YouTube) instructions for SONAR Platinum, I copied (dragged and dropped) a short audio clip (lead guitar) to a midi instrument track.  Hard drive grinds momentarily, but no clips show up on the midi track.  What am I missing?

Actually, this trick works for me even without activating Melodyn. I re built my DAW and I never did activate Melodyn.

But I never use instrument tracks, I always drag it to a midi track.
Aways works. Try a midi track.

That feature isn't supported in all versions of Melodyne.

Also make sure Melodyne isn't in "percussive mode" or whatever it's called when it focuses on tempo detection instead pitch.

I double that. You may have to open Melodyne seperately, change mode, close it, then try the drag technique. I came across this problem when trying to MIDI a bass.

Thanks, all!  I guess the creators of this quick (and I mean QUICK) little video left out the important Melodyne fact.

Guess I'll be going back to Melodyne.  I actually had it for a while and left in favor of AutoTune.

I don't understand why it will not work. I'm on my POS old Sony Laptop with a bare bones Splat install. I have never authorized or even opened Melodyn on this machine.
I just opened a blank project, Created an Audio track and dropped a Bass audio Loop from the media browser.
Inserted a Midi track and dragged the bass audio to it and Melodyn created a midi track.

I just did this in Home Studio! That should not have worked but it did! Probably because I have Splat installed HS borrows features, but I understood that the Melodyn trick was integrated in the DAW>

When I remove Melodyne.vst3 from the SONAR scan path, drag and drop audio to MIDI no longer works. If fact, the symptoms are the same as the OP.

OK so Melodyn will work in Home Studio if you have the Splat version installed, even if it is not activated to use the GUI.
