Backing Tracks in Sonar

I made my own! I love doing that. That way I can customize each one for whatever I'm working on. Very cool!

I want to interrupt this Fred with a message:
 
      A burglar broke into a house. He shined his flashlight around, looking for valuables; and when he picked up a CD player to place in his sack, a strange, disembodied voice echoed from the dark saying, "Jesus is watching you."
He nearly jumped out of his skin, clicked his flashlight off, and froze. When he heard nothing more after a bit, he shook his head, promised himself a vacation after the next big score, then clicked the light on and began searching for more valuables.
Just as he pulled the stereo out so he could disconnect the wires, clear as a bell he heard, "Jesus is watching you." Freaked out, he shined his light around frantically, looking for the source of the voice. Finally, in the corner of the room, his flashlight beam came to rest on a parrot.
"Did you say that?" he hissed at the parrot.
"Yep," the parrot confessed, and then squawked, "I'm just trying to warn you."
The burglar relaxed. "Warn me, huh? Who in the world are you?"
"Moses," replied the bird.
"Moses?" the burglar laughed. "What kind of people would name a bird Moses?"
"The kind of people that would name a Rottweiler Jesus."

Yep making them takes time cuz it's a learning experience and that takes time. Like Sharke said there tons on utube so get as many as you have time for and have fun. I seem to be spending all my playing time doing Chet/ Merle style with whatever melody is in my head that day. I don't need anything to do that but I have backing tracks if I need them. I should record some I this stuff I suppose but I Am lazy 

I use a real bass. Back many many years ago Strummy and I were talking and he mentioned that the only way to get a real bass sound is to use a real bass. I was unhappy with the way Bad Luck sounded cuz I used Dimention pro on the bass. I went out and bought a yamaha cheapy that, to me, sounds great. I think I paid around $300 for it. I've used that or another real bass ever since cept when I want an upright like on Autumn Leaves. After playing with the bass players I have during my pro years it still doesn't come close to a real player.
I say get a real one. I believe you could find a new one for around $150-200 or a used one but those aren't usually in very good shape. You won't be disappointed BUT remember you are the one that has to play the bass parts. One of the reasons I like making my own backing tracks is it forces me to do A BASS Part  hence the learning experience
