BandLab (as a cloud platform)

I am surprised such thread does not exist yet (or have I missed it?)

Since that is primary current product of the new "Sonar technology" owner, I guess we can expect at least an attempt of fusion in the future. I do not exclude that Sonar is planned as a "standalone windows app" in the BandLab framework.

I do not have sufficiently powerful mobile devices, but I had a look at "Web DAW" app. And I must admit, I was positively surprised. Chrome only, but it really works. Looks nice, render fast and does not produce errors.
The only comment: I have not found any FAQ how to bring the latency down to usable level (I can play slowly peaces on MIDI keyboard with default settings, but that is too inconvenient).

Have other already tried it as well?

"Cloud" is trendy.  Honestly, I don't care how an app is delivered as long as it works and is reliable.

I can see options built in that would allow tracks and buses and projects to be saved to the cloud, for collaborations. That would be cool I think.

I went to the Bandlab site after the news broke and immediately found myself logged into my account which I had forgotten I set up a few months ago. Beyond that, I haven't really tried anything out yet, but music over the internet is a really tough one due to latency and even with data flowing at the speed of light, a round trip from London to LA is the best part of a second due to the cosmic speed limit!

Splat, Win 10 64bit and all sorts of musical odds and sods collected over the years, but still missing a lot of my old analogue stuff I sold off years ago.

Also bear in mind that Momentum was CW IP. I doubt this acquisition was solely about SONAR. There is a lot of IP in that bucket, but limited ability to modify it.

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.
