NEW FORUM REQUEST
With the forum being moved over and redesigned it would be nice have stickies with: * issues/bugs * feature requests/ideas * latest revision notes with links to respective documentation Etc. Both for transparency and to help make it easier to get information rather than having to go to another page and then having to navigate to find the information. Just my thoughts. Oh, and Meng, if you are reading this - the FIRST FEATURE REQUEST: Add an option to make all menus editable. What I mean is, for instance, if a given menu has 10 items listed -at the very bottom (or top) of the list, add a selection option to hide items on the list. This would help clean up drop down lists to the items frequently used. Make this a toggle to display all items or just selected items. This acquisition is GREAT NEWS!!

If Feature Requests returned to the forum, It would be nice if it had subcategories for the different views. So that similar ideas could be spotted easily, avoiding duplicate posts and giving food for thought for those thinking of new ideas.

Endless duplication and repetition has been always been a problem in this forum. Any means of reducing it would be good.

Yep, true. So absolute outstanding search option is needed :) Easy to use yet with powerful options and logical conditions. :)

Maybe if the main Sonar Forum had still had a main section and Subsections for views, then FAQs would be broken down. Some of write little guides for How To, the links to these threads could be kept in a How To stickie for each View Section

They are changing the forum software (probably from asp to php). Bar the odd bit of customisation/integration they may do, it will be 3rd party software that works how it's designed to work, so asking for feature requests for the new forum is a bit pointless - hopefully, that time will be dedicated to developing Sonar!
Splat, Win 10 64bit and all sorts of musical odds and sods collected over the years, but still missing a lot of my old analogue stuff I sold off years ago.

I don't believe the development team will be building the forum website, but if they were to, they are starting from scratch so this would be the time to integrate it into the design.

Subforums or multiple lists all to cover just Sonar increase the overhead of visiting. So easy to click one forum and quickly scan the subjects. Also important to skip everything I've already read and get to the new posts of a thread I've already visited.

I get your point, but you can always view 'Latest Post' and capture all that. But for new users looking for answers having it broken down means they have less to look at, s it's less overwhelming. Also as I mentioned, it wuld splite the FAQ's up. When FAQ's are a massive superlist, it's just becomes anther menu to wade through. The Same with a list of tutorials. I think the benefit of subcategories out weigh the benefit of a Main page. A main page will still be needed for topics that fall outside the view, and workflows that require using a umber of views. The Matrix View instance wouldn't have much activity, so nt much need t lok there. But Matrix view questions wuld be spread over 100s of pages, instead of one. Matrix View desn't interest most, but if the intention is to expand the younger market, that's an area that would benefit from focused and available discussion. Especially as it has a lt t learn from other programs. The result could be that some us, me included would be mre tempted t use and learn mre about it.

As an alternative to subforums, threads could be categorised. The category would be selected by the OP from a drop-down menu. Moderators could re-categorise a thread if necessary.
