headphones?

Really? $600 headphones are for sale. Mine cost me $20 more than 20 years back. the fabric is all long gone. They're off ear so my ears can breathe and I can hear my amp direct as well.

I'm kinda curious... do you have 5 beautiful pairs of headphones and a nice headphone pre?

Do you really make different headphone mixes for everyone?

or do you have 1 pair you paid less than $50 for?

I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

Sorry if it was impolite to ask. I just couldn't believe the prices.

I have some 18 year old AKG K240s that I love. Last year I spent $350 on some Focal Spirit Pros. A week later I sent them back for a refund because I liked the AKGs better.

I think my most expensive set was $75. People trash headphones in the studio so I buy these $12 sets from the dollar store. Most of them sound real good.
My  Apex HP 60 are still going after a long long time. Those are MINE! I can get mixes very close with those.  I really don't remember when I bought them but I do know I am too cheap to pay over $75. .
My second favorite are some Audio Technica's,,  no model number visible anymore.  The padding is all rotted off but they still sound great and you can mix on them too.

I blows me away when I see the price they charge for obviously Made in China junk headphones . It's the Monster Cable rip off all over again. The $12 cans are exactly the same as the $ 300 "Beats".

I like the Audio Technica ATH-M40s for my vocalist and instrument session players, and for myself, I like using the KRK KNS 8400 Closed Back Studio Headphone.    Audio Technica ATH-M40s Now $99.99

The KRK's were on Sale (On-line only for 1 week from Walmart of all places) and the price kept fluctuating.   The lowest price was 63.99, however, I paid 89.99 I think as every day you didn't know were the price was going.  The sale was posted here in the Cakewalk forums two years ago I think. KRK KNS 8400 now $149.99

    Peace,

I like closed back that are reasonably flat so I can use them to start to mix. I have Sony MDR 7506 that must be 15 years old. I paid around $100 for them.

once you listen to an expensive set of headphones, then you will know.

    it's a huge difference.

i listened to a nice set of Sennheiser HD 650 headphones a friend had just bought,
    haven't even broken them in,
and a/b'd them against my akg240's....

now i can't even stand to listen to the akg's, because i know how far off they are.

at least i learned where the deficiencies are in my headphones.
    wow.

I like my BeyerDynamic DT990s for mixing.
For recording, i usually use my $35 Monster earbuds that are my normal "listening/phone" headphones.  A respected studio I know uses cheap $25 headphones in their live room, since the quality is really only important in the control room.
