Bus Panning Problems
I have three vox tracks that are panned 40% L, Center and 40% R and they sum to a stereo bus. I am using automation to control the bus panning from hard left to hard right. The hard left pan works. I can hear it and see the meters respond as they should. When the bus pan automation moves to hard right, the audio and meters go to center. The pan knob goes to hard right but the audio and meters do not I've tried everything I can think of and I always get the same result. These are the only tracks routed to this bus. I've also deleted and recreated the bus. What am I doing wrong? TIA for any thoughts. If this has been discussed previously, please direct me there. Paul

Just a guess, but are the Vocal tracks mono? If they're stereo but only recorded on the left channel, it might cause this panning issue.

HI. Do you use any plugins on the bus? If so, which one(s)? Could be a plugin issue. All the best.

Ken is on to something. Plug ins will change the stereo spectrum. Try disabling the Bus plug in/Plug ins to see the effect. If you have a send going to this bus that will also take precedence on stereo spectrum.

Do you have a pan envelope on the bus? Do you have a pan offset on the bus?

I agree that an edit in Offset mode could be the issue.

Thanks Ken. Yes, the QuadCurve EQ, CA2A, Ozone Imager and the CE. I'm pretty sure I tried disabling the PC. (See below for more exciting news!) Paul

OK, here's what happened. I went into the project this morning and now it appears to be working. The thing I didn't try, (previously), was closing and reopening the program and/or rebooting the computer. Very strange! I've had intermittent envelope issues for years but it's usually editing problems, (the edit tools don't work). This project had two different sets of vox clips that I wanted to swing from hard left to hard right. After fighting the first set for a while, I ended up just coping the vox clips and routing them to two different buses. The other was a short clip used to create an echo and I wanted to slap it from hard left to hard right very quickly. Never did get that one to work, (the other night). This morning they both work. I don't know.... Thanks everyone! Paul
