    very common in most DAWs these days.
     
    actually, you can set that pre roll to anything you want.

    me, i always do 4 beats in audio before starting a song anyways

    I'd love to see this feature implemented in Sonar. I've my way around it, but having pre-roll would significantly speed up my work flow.

    I just set up Auto punch where I need and place marker where ever I want before the punch. I have my markers ( previous and next ) tied to the  <  and  >  keys. Super simple and quick.
