I'll Do Anything (Jason Mraz Cover Featuring Bacco on Vocals) UPDATED MIX 5/1

Cover of Jason Mraz 2002 song I'll Do Anything from the Album Waiting for My Rocket to Come.  This song features Bacco on lead vocals.  I recorded the backing track in 2010, recently re-mixed it and Phil (Bacco) was kind enough to deliver an amazing vocal on this production.   Comments welcome.

I thought this was going to be the song from Oliver!  :D:D  really fun cultural appropriation by jason mraz (who's he?)  As always  Bacco did an amazing performance, and it's a well done production.

Thanks for the listen.   Who wouldn't want to see a "bopping to the groove" Wookie, so glad it accomplished that:)

Nice job on this cover Mark! Phil did a great job getting that Mraz flow on the vocals. My only crit is that the bass could use a little more punch so that the start of each note is a bit more defined. That's it.

BTW, I love the atmosphere you created for the mix...the room sounds great.

Eph221 - Appreciate the listen.   Jason Mraz is probably most well known for his hit, The Remedy.

Lynn - thanks, appreciate the comment.   Spent a lot of time on the mix so glad it is coming across well.  Have a few more in the hopper:)

Leadfoot - Thanks very much for the listen. I really like your song Melissa. Have had a few listens to that one.

Dan - Thank you for the listen. I did have some issues with the bass so may need to revisit. Understand what you are saying about the initial punch and will see what can be done.

Dan's got good comments, plus maybe the kick could thump a little harder as well. It's a sparkly mix and maybe weighted slightly on the bright side. Not badly though. Killer vocals. Loved the guitars, tone and panning, just great!

This has been up for a month? I don't know how I missed it. What a great recording (and song). Your vocalist is fantastic too. I'm kind'a old, so I must confess to only knowing Jason Mraz by name only. I'm definitely going to check him out on YT this afternoon. Great production all around!

Wow, nice work.  Totally not my thing, but it was very well executed.  Mix came across perfectly here on these little PC speakers.

Thanks very much to everyone for comments and suggestions.    Posting an updated version to reflect some changes suggested by several people.   The bass didn't have any attack in the original version so updated the bass part.   Also boosted the kick a little bit.   Hopefully the result is better.

The original version is still listed at the top of the thread.   Will leave the original mix up for a few days for reference.   Appreciate any additional comments on the new mix.  Thx.

Great job by Mark all around! Comparing both versions, the newest definitely stands out to me with the bottom end providing a nice cushion for the vocals. This tune is very pocket groove based so the extra bass/kick drives the song forward. Thoughts?
