Sonar Platinum user trying to get going with CbB, but puzzled on a couple of things

Hello all --

I'm a Sonar Platinum user who followed the path until the end of the line last November.

To the best of my knowledge, I'm using the same e-mail for both my old Cakewalk account and my BandLab account (created long ago), but I see no indication when I log into BandLab that there has been any connection made with my original Cakewalk account. Based on the March 22 e-mail from BandLab, I thought this was supposed be the case.

Where should I look for such a connection?

If I install CbB without evidence of such a connection, will I be setting myself up for snafus? Is BandLab Assistant seeing me as completely new to Cakewalk? I've been a Cakewalk customer since, I think, 2004, but I see no sign of that history in my BandLab account.

I downloaded BandLab Assistant and am being prompted to choose between an installation with additional content and an installation of Cakewalk only. If I choose the recommended installation with additional content, will I be unnecessarily doubling lots of stuff on my system?

I'd be grateful for any insight and help.

Why not reach out directly to Bandlab with a support request? People are reporting that they respond very quickly and most helpfully.

If you got the E mail from them then you are connected and in the system.
You don't need to download the additional content if you already have it. That is for brand new users so they made it separate which was very cool of them.

Thanks!

So I'm correct in assuming 1) the additional content is stuff like virtual instruments and plug-ins that aren't part of the core program, 2) all my Sonar Platinum stuff will be recognized by CbB, and 3) past customer history is still on the way?

Yeah, the additional content is included in Platinum. Don't uninstall your current version(s), and you'll be golden. If you registered at Bandlab with your Cakewalk email, you're in. Why do you need a "past customer history?"

We are in the same situation papercut. I used a more recent email to sign up for a BandLab account. I went back and changed it, but I think it might have been missed. I'm not really sure what the advantage is. All of my 3rd party Cake stuff migrated just fine.

My main concern I guess is if these programs are updated in the future I would like to be included in this if any perks are offered to existing users of say, Rapture or extra pro channel plug ins....and it would also be nice to carry my forum sign in and all of that over too. I went back and matched up my emails between Cake/BandLab but is was after their initial mail out. It wouldn't surprise me if I slipped through the cracks.

Anyone with a Bandlab account can D/L and use CWBL.  No prior history necessary.  Pretty cool, huh?

Win-7 Professionalx64.  CWBL, SONAR X3e, & most other previous versions.  TASCAM US-1800 audio interface.  A bunch of outboard stuff that never gets used anymore (ADAT boat anchors, smoooth LA4 comps (miss them!), etc.)  Way too many instruments.
