Tascam TDIF-1 Suitable interface for Computer.

Hi. I'm working on setting up a small project studio using Tascam DA-38/88'd ... and is wondering if anybody know how to get the resulting recordings transfered digitally into a Laptop/PC. As I understood it some earlier audio interfaces came with a TDIF-1 option, but wondering if anybody here knows more detailed as how to do this ? 
 
P.S. I'm also on the lookout for some tonnage of tapes, one of my machines is a monster and frequently eat a tape for breakfast ... I'm running out of tape.

OS:Win7x64 SP1 CPU:i5/8GB/SSD DAWs : CbB, FLS, SO2, (Reaper) etc. To much Gear, not enough wires.

    I don't know if this will work but just an idea for you to explore. Check out the Roland DIF-AT box. Occasionally see these on eBay. It may be possible if you sent the Tascam signal into the DIF-AT which will send it out to the RBUS cable which with some custom wiring you could loop back into the same box which should then send the same signal both to the TDIF and the ADAT port. It is easier i think to find an interface that accepts ADAT e.g. Motu.

    For the above you will also have to find a way to supply 5V power to the DIF-AT as it would be powered from the Roland equipment via the RBUS cable.

    If you are serious about trying this then there is useful info on the VS forums and i may be able to give you some info on RBUS. Roland also could give you the schematics for the DIF-AT if you ask them nicely.

    It might be you need two DIF-AT boxes.

    Thank you. I was wondering about the Roland DIF-AT box, saw someone selling one Roland (VS?) mixer  with 2 boxes ... but I understand it will require some deeper diving into the details of it to get it solved. Thank you very much for your lead to the VS forum. I guess I will be able to work something out from there.

    What i got from there is that you can loop back the 8 channels in RBUS. And clock. And that you need to supply 5V power

    What i don't know is whether with the loop back that one DIF-AT can input TDIF and output ADAT. Also clock in from TDIF might not go to ADAT with this method??

    You may also need to experiment how to clock your devices.

    If you have older computer and Windows then look at motu 2408mk3?

    Ej ... that's the solution ... the MOTU 2408 ... I see mk1 to mk3 have the Tascam TDIF connectors ... and no less that 3 of them ... I would be able to do 24 track recording and transfer with just one of those devices.
