Was trying to update to latest CbB, now BA won't install it at all (Windows 7)

Upgrade went a bit rocky on my first two systems. They hung at the "100%" mark as I see many others' have, but I just clicked on the Cakewalk shortcuts I had already placed on my toolbar and it came right up in the new version, with Drum Replacer and Vocal Align and TH3 and the rest.
 
Having tried it out on the less critical systems, I moved to the main DAW, and that's when things went sideways. My system (which has admittedly suffered a couple of mystery crashes in the past week while running Cakewalk) blue screened during the install process a couple of times, after which Cakewalk came up in Demo Mode and I dutifully went into Control Panel and uninstalled it and started over.
 
The last time, it got all the way to the end, and blue screened yet again, demo mode yet again, so I went through, CHKDSK, Disk Cleanup, Defraggler, CCleaner, a whole bunch of safety measures, but when I went to uninstall, Cakewalk wasn't in the list of programs, so I went into the Programs folder and pulled out the main .EXE and .DLL's. and started BA.
 
BA thinks that Cakewalk is already installed and will only allow me to download and install the Extras, so I am Cakewalk-less on my studio system until I get some ideas. I searched the registry and found no references to BandLab, and nothing about Cakewalk that seemed pertinent. I do have a license for CA-2A from when it was being given away a few years ago and it was accounted for.
 
I would say that the uninstaller could stand to be more comprehensive, or perhaps the installer more forgiving of crashes? I wouldn't mind having access to a standalone uninstall program that could get rid of whatever is telling BA that I still have Cakewalk on my computer.

so I went into the Programs folder and pulled out the main .EXE and .DLL's. and started BA.
BA thinks that Cakewalk is already installed and will only allow me to download and install the Extras....

Its not a good idea to manually remove the program like that since it leaves the system in an inconsistent state.
To get BA to reinstall you typically want to run the uninstaller from Windows Add/remove programs.

Pulling out the files in the Program Files directory was a flail. I had already tried the typical thing.
 
To restore the state for BA to reinstall again you will need to delete this registry key.
