Strange loss of drum audio, but everything else plays ok. [SOLVED]
I have just lost all my drums output in a project in SPLAT. I have eight tracks of recorded drums all with healthy waveforms which output to a Drum Buss, then to Master Buss. The thing is, everything else plays with the meters bouncing nicely, except for the drum tracks. It's as if nothing is there. The waveforms are there, but there is no audio or meter indication from the drum tracks or the Drum Buss. I have checked everything I can think of. The audio still exist, as I looked in the Audio folder of the project and can play individual clips from there. It's as if SPLAT forgot where it put the clips. I should also add that when this occurred, the mouse curser would only move horizontally. No vertical movement was possible. Closing SPLAT fixed that, but still no drum audio. Anyone else had this problem? This is a bit embarrassing as I had the client with me when the drums disappeared. Cheers

As a test, can you try creating a new bus and route the drums to that bus. Maybe something funky happened with the existing drum bus. Also, have you tried disabling all effects (Press FX in controler bar) - maybe a plugin went west, silencing that plugin.....

Disabled and deleted all plugins on the drum tracks and drum buss. Tried re-routing to a new buss. Saved as a .cwb in hope that all files would come together, but still no drums. There is no activity in the meters on the drum tracks, yet the waveforms are good and the tracks exist in the Audio folder. Weird.

Are the tracks in a folder that is muted? Maybe the tracks got archived. Take a look in the track manager. Rocky

Nope, no tracks muted. Entire project is now wide open.

I think I've found a solution. I copied an entire track to a new track and the audio came back. Fingers crossed while I do the rest of the tracks

It worked. I had to select each track and copy it to a new track for each drum. I did try selecting all eight tracks and copy/paste to new tracks in one action, but for some reason that doesn't work. Had to copy/paste them individually. Well, that has saved a lot of work. I was worried I'd have to get the drummer back to re-record the drums. Still, a weird problem that I don't know the cause of, but there always seems to be a work around, thankfully. Cheers all

Just curious, were they actual buses or aux tracks as buses? cus I often get this kind of thing when using aux track as buses, had to stop using aux tracks in the end.

Yes, the drum tracks were routed to an actual buss in the buss pane. Now that you mention it, I recall having problems using aux tracks as well. Now I do everything in the buss pane.
