ghost notes in MIDI

When I opened the piano roll to adjust some MIDI, there are some ghost notes.  And by that I mean there are just the outlines of some notes.  Not all notes are that way; just some.    Plus, when I delete a part of a recorded track, there is a faded-out version of the track I just deleted under it.

Anyone ever hear of this before?  Is there a way to get rid of it?

You can see the ghosted notes of other midi tracks in PVR
Or what I think your seeing is you have recorded with Comping on which results in layers of tracks.
The under layers will show as ghosted notes.
Go to track view, open the lanes and delete all but your last take.

See also the "Hide muted clips" option in the PRV view menu.
