Sonar home studio-will it stop working after october 18?

Hi folks,
I have windows 7 and 10 both 32 bit, my main music computer. So I can't install Cakewalk by bnadlab on it because its not 64 bit OS.

I just noticed that Sonar Home studio which can be installed on a 32 bit OS and which I have got has licence to expire in October 18.

Does anyone know if Bandlab have any plans to release a patch for users like myself who can't install the 64 bit version of Splat, and are happy enough to continue to use Sonar home?

Thanks a lot,
Joe

Mine says 1/12/2019. It was free but I didn't know it would expire.

As far as I know it is 64 bit because that is the way of things now.

Are you sure it is going to expire?  Does it mean that if Gibson had continued your updates would have ended.

I have never known Cakewalk to provide a product to stop working, other than when people took up the monthly option and stopped paying.  i.e. they had not purchased the product in full so were not entitled.

BandLab will not be updating other older Cakewalk SONAR products. However Home studio wasn't a membership product so it shouldn't expire.
BbB is 64 bit since the vast majority of PC's are now 64 bit only.

I doubt very much that BL will take the overheads of making a 32-bit version, although you never know.

I would think a 32 bit computer is not something anybody will be supporting. How many years have we been 64 bit?
4 GB of RAM!  that's not even a cell phone these days'

Home studio was updated last fall and that will be the last version ever.
If you grabbed a free copy it is no different than if you had paid the $50.
I wonder if that deal is still running?
I can't try it because I would need to create a new Cakewalk account. Anyone want to try who doesn't have it already?  it's easy all you need is an account.  I guess the cakewalk store is closed, but who knows... The Page still opens..

The "About" window has a "Valid through" date on it like the rest of Sonar's family. Time will tell if it actually expires or goes into demo mode. BTW, it does contain the "Sonar Demo" graphic in the TTSRES file but that doesn't really mean it's used as the file contains a lot of unused graphics.

And YES it's still available.

Are you coming from the future? Majority of cell phones still have 3/4GB RAM today
Almost all cheap tables also do not have more.

I surf the internet with my old nokia, I think it has less than 64 MB internal memory. Even had a facebook app on it for a while :)

The Sonar Command Center normally detects if the computer's operating system is 32 or 64 bit and automatically installs the file that matches the operating system.

However, you can go into Command Center's settings, click on the "Options" tab and enable the "Verbose install" checkbox and Command Center will ask if you want to install the 32 or 64 bit application.

My computer has a 64 bit operating system but I wanted the 32 bit installation to have access to the 32 bit accessories like Sonutis plug-ins, TTS-1 and Studio Instruments.

The three sets of plug-ins mentioned here are all available as native 64bit plug-ins. SHS does not come with the full Sonitus Suite though. However, CbB does.

Yes all the Cakewalk supplied Plug ins have been 64 bit  for a long time. Only some older 3rd party plug ins , mostly among the freebie type, are 32 bit these days. And for the most part there is no problem using 32 bit plug ins in 64 bit OS and Cakewalk versions. And my paid version say's it expires on Jan 2019. Doesn't mean it will stop working.

Support doesn't expire as long as users continue to post questions and answers.

Steve, My Music Creator 6, which is a 32 bit application, only includes Studio Drums.  But after installing the 32 bit version of Home Studio and redirecting paths in Music Creator 6 the application has access to drums, keys, bass and strings.  I'm also able to use the virtual instruments in Band-in-a-Box which is also a 32 bit application.
