It puts things back to a kind of normalcy that is very comforting. Thank you for restarting the Sonar column.

Thank Sound on Sound! They were the first magazine to recognize that Sonar was a program deserving of coverage, so they asked me to write the Sonar Notes column. They also broke the news about the BandLab acquisition, the news of the new name and the free model, and they asked me to continue with the column now that it's CbB. It's a great magazine, as are the people who make it happen.

Sound on Sound is great and the only reviews I regularly trust. While they try to say nice things about most products, If you read enough of them, you can guage by the comparative language used what is really good. When Paul White says something is excellent, that’s a product to check out.

Anyway, thank you Sound on Sound!

I've been around here a while, so I knew that you had a couple of books. I expect that you could easily swap out the names and wording to state Cakewalk by BandLab now, which will be of help to the masses switching to or trying Cakewalk by BandLab, and get you a fair few sales in the process. Win win.

Great idea, I think Meng would be interested in that too. I'd just need to remove the tips that refer to stuff not included in CbB, and it would make sense to consolidate the two books into one. Owners of the previous books wouldn't need the new one, but new users would probably find it helpful. Thanks!

The first 3 books in "The Musician's Guide to Home Recording" series are available from Hal Leonard and http://www.reverb.com. Listen to my music on http://www.YouTube.com/thecraiganderton, and visit http://www.craiganderton.com. Thanks!

I never left, actually! I just got more into Studio One after the initial "Cakewalk going away" shock. I had access to the Studio One 4 beta, and could see that it was going in a very different direction compared to CbB that was ideal for some types of projects. So I still choose CbB, SO4, or Live based on the project at hand...just like before. The main difference is now I can do a wider range of projects more easily.

For example, right now, I'm recording narration in CbB...it's still better than any other program I've used for that particular application. Then again, I also have more than one guitar and more than one keyboard
