Viewing Virtual Instrument Windows

Hey!!!

I was working on a project today, my first in CakeLab.  I was using Toontrack EZ Keys and EZ Drummer 2.  In Sonar X3 I used to be able to view both the EZ Keys window and EZ Drummer 2 window when I clicked on the little keyboard(s) next to the track number.  I used to be able to have them BOTH open at the same time.  Now, if I have, say EZ Keys open and I go to click on the little keyboard for EZ Drummer, EZ Drummer comes up but EZ Keys goes away.  It's like only one window is allowed to be open at a time.  What gives?

Thanks!

John B.

It's been a long time since I have actively used SONAR, and have not bothered with CbB, but there was a setting in the settings menu, something like 'recycle plugin windows' check that out. also there is the 'pin' at the top right of plugin windows i think, then I think you can also hold either Ctrl or Shift (can't recall which) while clicking on the next plugin you wish to open. Like I said, it's been a long time, but if my memory isn't failing that should get you there.

Thanks for the tip but there is no Settings menu.  There's Preferences but I see nothing there about what I'm asking.

Go to edit menu then Preferences / VST Settings.

Untick "Recycle Plugin Windows" down end on right. Apply

As he said just pin it. That other setting is in the Preferences/ File/VST settings and does nothing.

Huh ... It works here. Once "Recycle Plugin Windows" is unticked I can open mutiple instrument windows at once, just as the OP wanted.

Maybe you need to move the top window off left or right to see more

Whoops, forgot to APPLY, now it works,, so there's 2 ways to do the same thing.
I still like to use the pin as mostly I don't want a lot of the windows open, the pin lets me keep a few.

Yeah sorry about that, settings/preferences same thing to me, but I should have been more specific and correct in my terminology, but the lad up above there gave you the directions so your all good (I hope)
