How to make default track height stick following clone track operation ?

Hi,

Something that has forever driven me nuts is when I cone a track the height of the new track won't stick.  In other words, let's say I clone a track that is already partially expanded.  Initially the new track looks the same height.  But if I then minimize (shrink) the track and go to expand it again, it expands much larger in height instead of where it began after cloning.  I've tried all the "Set Default Height" and "Lock Height" operations and nothing seems to fix this behavior.  I end up having to grab the bottom of the cloned track and re-size it back to where it started....only then will that height "stick".

What am I overlooking, or what trick is there to make a cloned track maintain the default height of the parent?   Also, on a related question, is there a way to select a track height and apply it to other highlighted tracks?  (Useful for setting the height of multiple tracks of a VSTi)

Thanks,

I'm not even sure what Autozoom is, will look into that.  LoL

If I have a track that is expanded to reflect say, just the meter, volume level and inputs and make a clone of it, I get an identical copy as you'd expect.  However, here is where the difference lies:  If I minimize the parent track and then expand it, it will go back to it's original height as expected.  But the cloned track doesn't behave that way.  If I minimize and then expand it, it blows up much larger in height. Not the size of the entire view, just much larger than what it should be.  Only when I grab the bottom of the cloned track and adjust the size once will it stick that way in the future.   How do I get around this?  You still think it is an Autozoom thing??

In Track View click the View Menu (not Views at the top) - Auto Track Zoom is in there - switch it off

No dice, that's not it.  Looking in the manual it indeed seems to imply the only way to set a fixed track height is to both set the "Lock Track Height" AND manually adjust the height where you want.  Only after those two things will the track remember the same desired height.  Super irritating this behavior is because you'd think the track would remember the height at which it started after a clone operation.  Instead i have to constantly manually set this.  AND I also cannot seem to find a way to alter the desired track heights of multiple tracks simultaneously.

You can definitely do this with Auto Track Zoom engaged

I find it annoying so it's switched off!
