How To Use Cakewalk to channel voice audio into skype or video Tutorials

My mic is dry using my focusrite for windows. Is there a way to use Cakewalk to enhance my voice dialog (comp, eq, etc) and channel it into skype or a video tutorial for youtube, or even  a podcast? Thanks, Paul

The thing is those programs are taking your audio directly from the USB interface. They are using the "input". So to have Sonar involved will require having them use the "output"
I've never gotten my head around using Mix control but there may be a routing solution there.

But another idea would be to route output 3/4 back to input 3/4 with patch cables.
So plug your mike into inputs 1/or 2 set a channel strip in Sonar with your effects. DO not turn on input echo or you will get a loopback.
Now see if skype can be set to use 3/4 as it's input. This might be the tricky part.

The simple answer is yes. I edited audio for voiceover work for years using Cakewalk. Even the new, free version has all the basics you need. Use sonitus eq to to high pass the low frequency rumble present in most rooms and to remove resonance. Maybe some gentle compression to level and even a touch of reverb if it feels too dry but go very light

I just realized I may be answering wrong question. If your intent to use cakewalk as a live processor, what I said still applies but depending on interface, exact procedure may vary

Thanks for the advice. I asked the question because I don't have a stand alone eq or comp for windows or for whatever i'm hearing skype in. Wanted that broadcast sound.

I have used a similar way as suggested by Cactus Music. Using the inputs on My Focusrite into my Sonar X3 and setting the main outs to use the SPDIF OUT. I then used Google Hangouts or Skype set to use the default windows recording input which I had set to be the SPDIF IN on the focusrite. A simple SPDIF cable to link the two and it meant that anything played from within Sonar (or for that matter and DAW configured the same way) would allow me to use my live inputs on the Focusrite to output to any other Application that didn't used the ASIO drivers. Worked great for doing live guitar tutorials via Hangouts and also for Youtube Live. Latency can be an issue due to the round trip time but if you can set it low enough then you can just about get away with it.

You will need to make sure that the options in the windows mixer that "Allow Exclusive control" to applications is unchecked otherwise you will encounter issues there.

Best of luck

I was going to mention the SPDIF but have never tried it, But no reason it would not work and that keeps everything digital. Brilliant.
You can use a common RCA cable for this.
Using digital should reduce the RTL by a tiny bit too.
