Lyle Mays

Lyle Mays is one of my favorite pianists/keyboardists. Recently while playing around with Rapture Pro, to my delight, I found a patch called "Lyle's sound", Lyle Mays' trademark ocarina/flute sound. I tweaked it just a bit to my liking but I like it.

I had a Lyle-ish sound I "made" with Z3ta+ 2 but the Rapture Pro one was better.

Too bad I don't have his talent - or anybody's talent for that matter.

And too bad Lyle is now a software manager. I miss his music.

His work on the early Pat Metheny albums was outstanding.

Good thing CDs came along. I was getting tired of replacing worn-out LPs.

Lyle is one of my fantasy concerts I'd love to see happen.  Solo improv or a trio.  Saw PMG plenty of times.  And rapture is the synth that keeps on giving!
