CbB vs Splat - number of plugins less in CbB - Quickest way to resolve?

I have the same VST paths set up in both CbB and SPlat but I noticed when I ran Splat the other day that the number of plugins is slightly more than CbB:   CbB 1267 vs SPlat 1288.

Just trying to work out the quickest way to find what's missing in CbB. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Could it be that you're missing only 32bit plug ins?  I've missed a few from my transfer to CbB, but only 32bit's and nothing important that I can't live without.

All the best,

I am off by exactly 1 between SONAR Platinum and CbB

SONAR 2466
CbB 2465

I've waded through the list of plugs by type in both lists and I cannot find the difference. In the CW Plugin Manager the quantities of types (VST, VSTi, VST3, VST3i etc) are identical. I do not have any disabled plugs.

Paths are identical. I do have a small list of 32bit plugs that I scan (~20). I run both from a desktop icon that has Run as Admiistrator checked.

Strange days indeed mamma.

Thanks guys.

I just tried running Menu Magic which I hadn't done since being forced onto Windows 10.
It shows identical figures for both CbB and SPlat (1217). Not sure what all the possible dupes are (maybe 32 and 64 bit versions of the same thing).

MM also noted that the CbB plugin manager had mis-categorised Analog Lab 3 and Symphonic Orchestra as 32 bit.
I will delve a bit deeper into MM to see if I can see anything obvious.

This is CbB on the top and SPlat on the bottom:

Not trying to downplay issue( I understand how annoying little mysteries can be), but odds are if you don’t know what’s missing you probably don’t use the plugins. Maybe using product will lead you to the discovery. I discovered it did not initially pick up addictive keys when I went to insert. Knowing it was missing made it easy to fix.

Try a manual scan and see if that finds them. You can also find out which plugins failed, and either manually select and point the Plugin manager to the folder they are in and rescan again.

Waves has recently moved things and locations around in Program Files when they updated restructured for their new V9 plugins and licensing for Windows 10 digital driver signing thingy's and contraptions. All Waves plugins both VST2 and the new VST3 versions are now all listed together in "Program Files" for x64 bit plugins and "Program Files (x86)" for x32 bit plugins.
So if your problems are with any Waves plugins you need to go and download the latest version of Waves Central, and get updates and reregister all Waves plugins.
Not as difficult as it sounds. Completely automatic if all Waves plugins have already been registered to one user name. Just select/choose to uninstall locally registered plugins and hit the "repair" button and Waves Central will do the rest.
But if you share Waves plugins with another registered user you will need the user's name and serial numbers handy or Waves Central will uninstall them, as it will with all keygen installations which can only be fixed with a credit card.
WHAT???? Waves wants $6000 for their Mercury Bundle??? How DARE they!

Yes, I know exactly what you mean dubdisciple. That's what I have told myself a few times.
It's just this nagging feeling that I'm somehow missing something that would be useful if only I knew what it was.

Thanks for your reply Steev. I did a manual scan and it made no difference. Although it did show up a couple of errors that were puzzling as the plugins in question are working fine (Melodyne Editor, Analog Lab 3 and Symphonic Orchestra).

I do have a lot of Waves plugins and regularly update and rescan them. I have had a few times before when my number of plugins suddenly jumped up or down by a few hundred and I always know it's a Waves problem when that happens :)  They do all appear to be present and correct this time though. Incidentally, I don't share plugins with any other users.

I thought my GAS was bad, but that is extreme, lol.
I expect there are others with worse (or better depending on your viewpoint?).

Of course the actual number may be quite a bit more e.g. Kontakt shows up at 3 plugins in CbB/SPlat but the actual number of Kontakt libraries that you own might run into the hundreds (especially if you frequent the Deals forums!).

I was just joking with Bapu. I've no idea what the actual number is as I've never felt the need to count them, but it's a very modest amount.
