Creative Rhythmic Delays w/ MDelayMB

Here is another tutorial I made on creating interesting rhythmic delays using MDelayMB. The video features 2 examples that would be difficult or impossible to create with other delays. Hopefully this will give you some ideas for things you can try yourself.

    Hi Chandler. Another fantastic video.  I love it. I got MDelayMB recently as it went on sale.  Your previous video also creating delays with slow attacks was excellent.  What an amazing effect.
     
    This delay stuff is great too.  Their plugins are complex in that they allow for some very interesting effects.  You just have to come up with the ideas and their plugins can help you realise them. MGranularMB is a great example of that too.  The quality of the audio is pristine too with all their plugins. 
     
    Keep an eye on the sales every 6 days etc.  Most of the plugins you would love from them show up in these sales and you can get them for a very reasonable half price.

    Jeff - Thanks. You’re right that there is so much you can do with these. The modulation possibilities are insane. They’re an amazing deal when you catch them on sale.

    It's rather nice of them to give away Spectral Delay. Any chances of a video on that one. I would love to know from you what it can do, that is for sure.

    Jeff - in the future I might do one. There is a lot you can do with it, but off the top of my head I don’t have an idea that really jumps out at me. In the future I’m sure I’ll do another video for it though. I did a walkthrough of it before it was released which gives some ideas of what it can do.

    Thanks Chandler. Walkthrough is excellent! Great start. I can see massive potential in this one.

    Yup, the MSpectralDelay is one that I am glad I grabbed.  Nice walkthrough Chandler!  Melda has some serious chops!
     
    There is a lot of potential with this one!
     
    I run into a common problem with these time limited freebies, as well as with discounted premium plugs.  I feel compelled to acquire them, even if I am involved in other things at the time, but then I don't initially have the time to spend to get familiar with them. So they risk just sitting around on my drive for awhile, lonely and forgotten...
     
    But the walkthrough inspired me to give it a little bit!  I found an interesting bass arp in SynthMaster One [ARP Rolling Bass], then tried each and every preset in MSpectralDelay.  Nice!  Modulating (via the mod wheel) this synth patch with a few of the delay presets in Melda results in some interesting sounds.
     
    Definitely a keeper!

    The Channel Editor in Studio One is a very cool feature. You can build a very complex group of effects all at once. Endless series and parallel combinations.  All can be setup for parallel processing signal flow too.  The whole effects chain can be saved as a super effect and then just dragged out for an instant setup, and on just one track and mixer channel.  Everything can be automated and rather nicely from any of the Faderports too.  Everything starts to move and become liquid then within many of the effects.  LFO's can be synced or free wheel for endless permutations. 
     
    Once you start putting a few Melda plugins together in this mode, you can get into some rather endless and limitless setups and sounds very quickly.
