for YEARS the audio finder has been pants and risky [lost a heap of stuff ages ago] . Good to see it getting some attention under the new regime

Not so sure it's Cakewalk Audio Finder (CWAF) that has been updated ?
It's the "Clean Audio Folder"
These are both separate items in the Utilities menu.
I would want some clarification about what work was done before I delete any audio files.
Maybe someone will shed more light ?

Cakewalk by Bandlab, Cubase, RME Babyface Pro, Intel i7 3770K @3.5Ghz, Asus P8Z77-VPro/Thunderbolt, 32GB DDR3 RAM, GeForce GTX 660 Ti, 250 GB OS SSD, 2TB HDD samples, Win 10 Pro 64 bit, backed up by Macrium Reflect, Novation Impulse 61 Midi Key Controller, Tannoy Active Near Field Monitors, Guitars by Vantage, Gibson, Yamaki and Ovation.

You can now set it to just scan the current project audio folder rather than the whole computer. It's a small change, but it makes it useful again.

Fantastic! I've been wanting this feature for years.

You might want to submit a feature request to have the tool move files to the Recycle Bin rather than permanently delete them. I haven't used the tool myself, so forgive me if it already does that.

Cheers
