CbB inaccurate location when left clicking on tracks to split [SOLVED by Prefs Setting]

I have noticed this after doing a lot of editing recently using the latest CbB. It might have also been there in previous versions.

For example, with snap turned on (set to 1/4) if I left click on the timeline at, say, 47:01:000 the Now Time is shown correctly.
If I now click on a waveform in a track that I have recorded at the same location the Now time shows 47:01:002 (it's not always 002 and seems somewhat random). This makes it tricky to split waveforms accurately and happens consistently.

Is this a bug and is there any workaround?

Thanks

Hi. This is expected behaviour, if "snap to zero crossing" is enabled in Preferences.
Otherwise, I do not know.
All the best.

Not seeing that here. Are you using a right-click to open the clip context menu for splitting?

That sorted it, thank you Zargg.

I must have set it and forgot it in SPlat a long time ago!

For anyone else who has the same issue you will only see the "Snap to Grid" option in Preferences if you have a new project started.

Thanks for the reply bit.  To clarify; I am using left click to locate the cursor then right click for the context menu.

Zargg has given the solution which is something I had even forgotten setting in SPlat

Just exercise caution, as there is a good reason why the snap-to-zero-crossing option exists. To avoid pops and clicks at the split you may need to apply fades that are longer than the handful of ticks (< 12, or < 6 ms) of "error".
