Thanks Scook...I keep forgetting that drop down menu haha! I kept clicking on the left hand pane not on the envelope itself.

You can also control-C and control-V to save the extra clicks.  I don't even use the menu's for copy/paste anymore, it works for selections, clips, automation.  You can also control + LeftClick drag drop to copy any of those things also, including plugins.  Doesn't seem to work on entire tracks, though.....at least last time I tried.

yeah, there are other ways - they just don't show up well in videos and I was guessing there was more to the question than simple copy/paste. FWIW https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Automation.11.html#1154570

Yeah I tried that also, but it did not work. ctrl key options as well as drag and drop. It was a simple question, and I was pretty sure I was missing something simple. Believe it or not I have never had cause to do this task before. This (the copying) would also be available I guess from the main menu bar under the EDIT tab, but for some reason I didn't think of doing it there. Mebbe as it was an automation lane?? Didn't connect the dots so to speak.

Anyhoo problem sorted, thanks.
