where do i find the setting for midi-buffer? thx martin

Go to Preference --> MIDI --> Playback and Recording Or

Hey Audioicon,,, you need to bump those up to at least 500. 250 is the default and most people have problems with drop outs at that setting. I have mine at 1,000. It makes you wonder why Cakewalk has never upped the default?

Just out of interest, is there any downside to increasing this buffer?

msmcleod Just out of interest, is there any downside to increasing this buffer?
I was having MIDI event dropouts and bumped mine up from 500 to 2500 at the suggestion of Craig A. It solved my issue and I haven’t noticed any downside at all.
