Mackie Onyx Producer 2x2

I'm helping a friend get his first AI. Per his budget and I/O needed, the Onyx Producer 2x2 fits his needs.

Anyone have this and what are your thoughts on it? (good driver support etc..?)
He'll be using it with BandLab's Cakewalk and Win10.

Driver quality is probably too early to call -- looks like a brand new product.  Make sure your friend buys from a store with a decent return policy.

That said, I can recommend this unit (or its smaller brother, the 1x2) based on the fact it includes Tracktion's T7 DAW and their DAW Essentials Collection (I paid 40 bucks for the FX alone in a sale, and they're definitely top-notch. They currently sell for $159 at the Tracktion site, so getting T7 and the FX bundled free is insane).

    Hi, mate.
Due to it not having well known drivers (yet ), I would probably go for a more established manufacturer.
    I'd even check 2nd hand. Focusrite 2i2, Audient ID4/14, Steinberg UR22 etc.
    All the best.

Thanks Jon & Ken....I didn't realize how good the bundled software that comes with this is. Will definitely keep this in mind. I just sent a message to Mackie asking about driver support.....will see what they say.

I'll also check out some used gear (he needs something like Focusrite's 2i4 for MIDI)......
