How to install Effects From Sonar 7 Producer Edition so that it is available in Platinum?

Hello everyone!

I have Sonar 7 Producer and Sonar 8.5 Producer (Unopened Packet ).
I need to install the Lexicon Pantheon Reverb from the Sonar 7 Disc so that I can use it in Sonar Platinum.

I insert the disc, select 64bit and the Plugin Shared path. Under the list of items, I simply select Audio Effects and the Lex effects.
However, when I run the installation there are no dll for lex in the shared folder.

I want to be careful not to mess up my current configuration.

Is this possible and if so, how do I get this done?

Thanks

If I remember correctly the Lexicon reverb is a DXi FX it needs to be installed in the Shared Plugin directory.  It also needs to be the 64bit version

Thank you!
As indicated I performed the steps you mentioned but when I finished installation, there are no Lex dll in the Shared Plugin folder.

I am beginning to think maybe I should simply locate the dll on the install disc and copy them over to the Shared Plugin folder, rather than performing an actual install.

The process described in the OP should have been sufficient. But I can't recall searching for dlls. Either the plug-in is listed in the DAW or not. I have not messed with re-installing the Pantheon in a few years (at least one machine ago). I am sure I used 8.5 disks to do so. Guess 7 is similar. IIRC, the original surround Pantheon was 32bit only and at the time considered a better plug-in than the stereo version which was released in 32 and 64bit DX format. IIRC, when running a 64bit install, only the 64bit DX plugins are installed.

I doubt the files are accessible individually on the install disk. It may be possible to transfer the files from an existing installation then run regsvr32 to register the plug-in.

Thanks my friend.

Great idea. I have a deadbeat machine, I think I will install Sonar 7 64 on that Machine, then copy the DLL from the Shared folder to usb and paste it in the Shared of Platinum and see what happens.

For personal reasons, I really love the Pantheon effects especially after listening to some of my older recordings and noticed they sound very good.

Copying DX plug-ins is not enough. They must be registered using regsvr32.exe. This is how DX plug-ins are seen by DAWs.

Once copied to the new machine, open a shell as administrator in the directory and type
regsvr32 dllname

You may want to export the presets from the 7 install and import them into the new install after registering the plug-in.

Sure thing, thanks.
I will post back the results of this process.

Hello everyone:
I have solved this issue as instructed and recommended in the above post.
I did not copy the DLL, instead I re-ran the installation and selected the Audio Effects only.

Finally, from the command line, I registered the dll as instructed above.

Now I have Lexicon Pantheon Reverb.

Thanks everyone.

Good to hear this I did wonder if you might have to run regsvr32, but was hopeful the installer did that as part of the install.
