Stop Step Sequencer From Moving During Playback?

Is there a way to make the step sequencer view remain stationary during playback? It's distracting to have to stop every time I find the note I want to add since I usually miss it because the scrolling moves too fast. thanks

Does the scroll lock key work like it does in track view?

Thanks for the reply. Unlike scroll lock I have to hold the note I click on in order to keep the screen from moving. Once I let go it centers on playback again so I don't get a chance to enter any new notes.

My laptop desn't have Scroll Lock, seems and out of fashion key. So I use the on screen keyboard

I still remember the time back in 1994 when I accidentally hit scroll lock and stumbled on this feature. My friend Toby and looked at each other with amazement.

I don't want to hi-jack this thread, but can you (or anyone else) verify this somewhat related step sequencer bug:

If you enable looping on a step sequencer clip and drag the clip out to extend it by looping, then you will only see the step sequencer playback position move on the first loop, not on any subsequent loop-throughs...
