Neptune

Here is my song, "Neptune"; I added a lot of new tracks.

I think I sound a bit like Jim Morrison in this song. I was not trying to do that but it just came out that way.

The lush harmonies and adlibs are new and I remixed the tracks and remastered it.

I have been thinking of using a Leslie effect on my vocals towards the end last chorus but I have not got around to trying it yet.

Hope you like it Cakewalk peeps!

Thanks for listening!

This is weird.  I was just looking at the score to Holst's Planets.  The backing vocals are great, maybe a tad louder would be better.  Just a little.  You nailed the Jim Morrison.  My song writing partner in college thought he was reincarnated as Jim Morrison.  Only problem is, he was  serious.  :D:D

I think it would sound really cool to do that for the entire song. The whole time I was listening to it, I kept thinking it was missing something on the vox. Leslie would really do it I think. Good idea there.

I have edited the song, took me about 5 hours today and a good part of last night also.

First I would like to thank Eph221 for asking that the background vocals be made a bit louder. That was the main new addition I made to this song and for it to be asked to be made louder affirmed that did okay in adding them.

I balanced them better and fixed some of the timing etc in the background vocals and turned them up (I hope not too much).

I added the Leslie at the last chorus on the latest version. I thought about adding more but the Leslie creates a lot of wind noise. I liked the smoothness and quietness of the main vocal but the Leslie did come on nice as an effect for the last verse.

This song is odd that the first verse is the chorus, And I did not want to start the song off with the Leslie because it is a bit screechy.

Maybe one of the middle verses is a candidate to add the Leslie too.  Let me know Wayfarer (or anyone) where you think it might go nice for a middle verse. I have not gotten that far yet to consider it. It probably should come in for a bit before the last verse instance.

I hope you like the edits Cakewalk peeps!

I didn't hear any 'lush' harmonies but this is a good demo of your tune -- thumping groove and everything sits nicely in the mix.  Good one...
