Great White Shark

This song is in the same aquatic theme as my last post.  However, it is not a Surf song or an instrumental.
It is a song just for fun but with a caution.

As always, comments, crit.'s, suggestions, etc. are appreciated.

Thanks.

Interesting. Kind of a bit of surf, a bit of classic rock/psychedelic. Some good performances. The guitar tone and playing fits well with the song. I like the sound of your drums, though I thought they sounded a bit low in the mix.
I smiled when you said, "Gotta a big mouth, too."

Definitely a for fun song. Was that a nod to the Jaws theme starting around 0:27 or did I make that up?

Freddy, this is very cool, and in my opinion experimental.  I like the guitar tone with the tremolo, and the backing vocals are nice nice nice.  I really like this.  Way to step out Freddy.

    Hey, Freddy,

It's always great to hear another one of your classy original rockers!

This is really well written, played and sung with your tasty, trademarked Freddy guitar work, and a cool touch of a psychedelic vibe thrown in for good measure.

"Soupy Surf" that came up right after it on your Soundclick was also a really cool surf rocker with a fun Vintage 60' vibe.

Great stuff, buddy, have a super weekend!

Hi Freddy - you've got some great sounds going on here. You've captured a great sound - a bit of mystery to it. Your playing and vocals have really come a long way since the early days. This is a great song Freddy.

Thank you Sean.  I appreciate your listening and thanks for the comments!!!  I'm very glad that you liked it.

Hi Bjorn.  I wish I were that creative but any similarity to Jaws is just a happy coincidence.  Thanks for listening and for the kind words.

Thanks Jesse.  I was having fun with this song and it put itself together rather quickly.  Thanks again for listening and commenting.

Hey Bob.  It has been a while since I have seen you on the forum.  I'm glad that you are back and I hope everything is well with you!  I appreciate your kind comments and encouragement.  I had fun with both of these songs and that always makes them easier to to do. Thanks again!

Hi Mark.  If I have improved, it is mostly because of the great advice and help I have gotten on this forum.  I just gave a listen to your recent post "Dirty Snow".  This is a terrific number and I love the funky First Nations sound.  Excellent stuff my friend!!  Thanks for listening, the kind words and encouragement.

I like the bendy vocals! Good choices! I'd bring them up in the mix. Why not?

Guitars are playing great parts. I like the groove. I think the intro could stand just a bit more editing for timing of a wonky strat lick, unless you are going for wonky?  :)   Your background vocals and main vocals, do they have the exact same vocal treatments? You might vary the processing on the bgv's to differentiate them a little more.

I also got into "Soupy Surf" which is very nice indeed.

    cheers,
    -Tom

I like the guitar tone in this one, nice track. I tend to agree with Tom regarding the vocals as the backing sounds very similar to the lead. That aside - good stuff.

Thank you Wookiee  --- I appreciate your taking the time to comment!

Hi Bapu!  Thanks for the kind words!  You have been very busy haven't you?  I have been listening to a number of songs that have been posted that include your bass work.  I guess they all want to use the best bass player!

Thank you Tom.  I appreciate your insight and suggestions.  You're right the timing is a bit off in the intro guitar.  I'll have to go back and address that when life gives me the time to do that.  I was going for a rather thin sound for that intro but I may have transgressed to wonky. As far as the vocals, I was going for the tight harmonies that were kind of prevalent in the early '60's.  However, I'll try doing some EQ on BGV's to see if I can get a bit more separation.

Thanks Adrian.  I appreciate your taking the time to listen and comment.  If you read my response to Tom (above), I tried to address my thinking on the vocals.  I will, however, play around with some EQ or something else (if I can think of something) to separate the sounds while still keeping the tight harmony.

Hey Freddy, I dug that bass line riff -- very menacing.  And, as always, I like your guitar tones...those vibrato sounds really hit home for me.  I enjoyed this!
