I was offered a job with the Space Command when I was in the Air Force.
I turned it down cuz it didn't come with a space helmet!
If FEARLESS LEADER wants a space force to play with whom are we to question it? Besides, It would be cruel to deny anyone that has had EVERYTHING he's ever wanted handed right to him on a silver platter. He expects it! If we don't do what he wants he may rain inconceivable somethings on us the likes mankind has never seen! I feel more secure just talking about it! HAIL FEARLESS LEADER!!!!!
P.S. If there's one thing I have learned about FEARLESS LEADER it's I is the most important thing!

It may seem silly, but control of space is control of the world.
There are science fiction novels and movies about this subject, and the TV show Salvation also touches on it, with a terrorist group controlling the world with orbiting nukes.
The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress by Heinlein, from the 1960s, has lunar colonists making the world accept their demand for independence by dropping rocks on them from the moon. And his novella Requiem also plays on that theme.
Still, militarizing space has long been proscribed by an unwritten law, but I'm sure all nations with the means to do it have thought about it, and even made plans for it.
It's just who is implementing it that brings the idea up for ridicule.
But, I believe the world has just gotten much more dangerous.

I'm surprised they gave you that option. Normally you would have been pressed into service for 10 years. Had a memory wipe and been returned to just before they asked you.
