New StudioCat: Questions regarding new install

So I "get" that Splat must be installed before CbB; that goes without saying.
Now my questions:
Do I need DimPro, Rapture, Rapture Session?
Rapture Pro covers all that, does it not?

Is there a way to install the "Artist Collection" and NOT install Session Drummer?

Oh, and just a "heads up" for everyone facing a new install.
Check "Verbose" in the Command Center, this will let you control install paths.
Also, be sure to set you "content" path and "download" path.
If you want your C drive to be "lean and mean", keep all that off the C drive.

    Yes Tom, good points

I've just got my computer back after having an additional SD installed with just Windows 10 on it

I can now dual boot between Win 7 (which has got everything) and Win 10 (which currently just has the OS)

The good thing is that all of my massive sample libraries were already on a dedicated partition of the old SSD so are still visible to the new OS, so all I have to do (hopefully) is just run the installers

It's not my idea of fun though, doing this sort of stuff. Something is bound to go fubar

DP and Rapture are mostly covered by Rapture Pro especially if you are not concerned about opening projects that contain the older synths. However, projects made with legacy synths will require the legacy synths to open properly.

Skip Rapture Session if Rapture Pro is going to be installed. Again, if Rapture Session was used on a previous project, it may be handy to have. If both are installed, they use the same sample folder so very little additional space is needed for both plug-ins.

To avoid Session Drummer skip the Artist Collection and use and advanced install of an older version of SONAR to get the other plug-ins. Platinum has no way to select individual plug-ins from the installers.

    Thanks Steve!
What about installing the Toontrack EZD2, EZKeyes and Superior "programs"; then moving the
Sample libraries over from my older machine?
    Does that work?

Most everything that has some kind of activation/authorization requires installation. Copying data does not work because it skips the copy protection process. Because of this, I am pretty sure copying Toontrack stuff won't work.

Also some manufacturers track installs. In those cases, it may be necessary to deactivate older installs.

The Toontrack sound libraries can be moved to the new install.
You go to the library path in SD3 and find the library.
Then Toon takes you to the web site to authorize use.
Make sure you have an open "slot" for that library.
The EZD libraries d/l quickly on my cable internet.
The SDX libraries not so much.
Boy do the SD3 kits load fast with the M2 SSD!
