VST scan taking minutes instead of seconds?

When I open Sonar the VST scan now takes about 2 to 3 minutes, where it used to take 10 or 15 seconds. I have not added any new plugins or instruments; it just started happening one day. It's not a big deal, but it makes me wonder if something is about to go belly up in SPLAT and ruin my day.

My SPLAT computer is offline, so no Win updates, I haven't opened any files from an outside source, no new hardware, etc.

I am currently using the last build/update of SPLAT, but am finally about to grab CbB, so maybe that will cure the problem? I've been slow to adapt for a host of reasons (mostly life related) and am actually kind of excited to see if CbB fixes a few other ongoing annoyances with that last build of SPLAT.

Speaking of which, I have to go work on some stuff in the studio so I will check back late tonight. Thanks for any thoughts on the above.

I had that similar thing happen on scan.  Turned out one of the VST's was corrupt and causing it.
If you watch the scan and it will hang on the one that's causing it (at least did on mine).

Not likely a sign of problems with the DAW other than a scanner configuration issue or bad plug-in(s). The scanner is a separate program.

Make sure the scan path does not contain redundant entries or paths that do not contain VST plug-ins. When in doubt publish the scan path here for review.

Make sure the two rescan options (Rescan Failed Plugins and Rescan Existing Plugins) are turned off.

Hold the SHIFT key and click the scan button to generate a scan log. Reviewing the log may be helpful.

The scanner included with CbB is improved. Being a shared utility, it is used by all Cakewalk DAWs and CbB.
