Automation Read Toggle (Reminder for an old man)

Hi Gang...

Once again I can't remember. Any help would be appreciated.

The enable toggle for automation read has three states. Enable, disable, and half-enable.

I don't remember the purpose of half-enable.

I also wonder why some tracks seem to change this state as I doubt I have ever selected half-enable of my own accord.

Thanks for your time to read this...

    Keni, from online help:

    Enabling individual parameters
You can read-enable or write-enable individual parameters on tracks and buses by right-clicking them and choosing Automation Read Enable or Automation Write Enable from the pop-up menu.
If you right-click an effect in an FX Rack, the Read Enable Parameter and Write Enable Parameter menu choices open dialogs that allow you to select which parameters you want to enable.

Enabling one or more of these parameters shows the "half enabled" on the button.

    Thanks Phoen...

I remember reading that, but I honestly still feel unsure if my understanding. I often find issues when it is half selected where it does not respond to some automation until I change the state to full enable. I"m trying to recall the exact situations, but alas, I am at a loss...
