"Happy" drug commercial

Feb Fun was co-written by Hannah Ford and me. The production was done by yours truly. This wordless jingle sounds like it could be used for a Prozac ad or some other happy pill.

Any ideas on how to make this one better would be appreciated.

Go easy...this is just my first mix

Pretty good. I like the cymbal swells and the envelope on the Accoustic guitar.

very smooth. To make it a little more "ethereal" you could interchange your Gmaj7 FMaj7 feel with the relative minors, but make them minor 9ths (Emin7 add F# on top) (Dm7 add E on top). First you could do it the way you are doing, then for variation do the minor with the same amount of measures. Then you could do Gmaj7 Em9 Fmaj7 Dmin9-one measure on each. Actually the last way sounds good if you just make them straight minor 7ths.

might work .. might not .. but see what you think..

    Feb Fun w/ extra endorphins

i also added a mild pad at 11:00 .. but i'm not sure about it ...

Love the synth fills! What did you use for that? I'm thinking about getting an Alesis Ion witihin the next couple of days for that sort of thing. If you've got the MIDI handy for that part I'd appreciate it if you'd send it to me. Otherwise I'll get of my fatty posterior and fake it myself.

I like the sound of the synth pad. What was that? I'm not sure about the note choices though.

    Thanks,
    Jonas

    Hey Mike,

Thanks for that idea. I'll give it a go. Who woulda thunk that you'd have to tell a jazz player to use the relative minor chord substitution

    hi jonas,
i put a bundle file at : Feb Fun Bundle

for some reason .. the link was weird .. so it's

    http://www.jeffmarkham.com/jsaras/feb_fun_jm.cwb

my isp apparently serves the CWB files out as .wavs .. but, if you
save it with a .cwb extension .. should be well.

i used the TTS1 for the sine-wave lead .. and a aurturia minimoog for the pad .. which i froze
just in case you don't have one....

Liked Michael's suggestion - to add some interest. It's pretty bland, as is; but I guess that's why you said it "sounds like it could be used for a Prozac ad or some other happy pill."

Liked Jeff's additions. Definitely in character with what you have so far.

I think I listened to a doctored version, doctor, but it sounds happily drugged to me.

    Jonas,

Thanks for sharing. If you ever need a guitar player then let me know. My Taylor would sound pretty good on this song.
