Pedal Steel in TTS-1?

I'm looking for a pedal steel sound (doesn't have to be perfect) and someone in a forum post said there's one in TTS-1 that isn't bad.
I found it here:
Pedal Steel shows up in the patch browser as
Bank 15489-Preset Normal 1  Patch 26

but it sounds more like a piano to me. I can select other patches from the patch browser and they sound like how they're supposed to, but not Pedal Steel.
Just wondering if anyone else thinks it's more a piano sound then a pedal steel?  Thanks

I took a listen to that patch.  It doesn't sound the same as the piano, different, but without much in the way of guitar timbre.  Very plain sound.  But then again, I wouldn't expect the most realistic guitar samples from an ancient GM synth.

It sounds a bit more realistic if you use expression or fader automation to fade the sound in, so the attack part is silent.

That assuming this is the effect you want of course.

TBH all the guitar sounds are a bit harsh on the attack.

Maybe a transient shaper can tame them?

It doesn't sound even close to a pedal steel instrument to me but I suppose with a bit of tweaking it could. But I'm going to look elsewhere.
    Thanks

I'm a Pedal Steel Guitar player.  I haven't heard any MIDI/emulator that even comes close.
    But then I'm biased.

I tracked Pedal Steel Guitar for a New Zealand studio a couple of years ago.  They were doing a project and one of the songs needed Pedal Steel (a earlier Sweethearts of the Rodeo recording of the song used Pedal Steel).  Nothing they tried satisfied them.  I tracked steel and they were happy and used it in the final mix.

I found a free simple soundfont set from another member a few years ago. It works in a pinch and sounds good for basic stuff. I converted it to SFZ for use in Dimension. I also got it to work with SI Bass Guitar so I could use the slide function with it, but that's a bit involved.

PM if you want me to send it.

Otherwise there's Wavelore for kontakt on sale for $150 till Sep 30.

An emulation of this probably calls for a Roli Seaboard or Linnstrument + a very good sampler with MIDI MPE.

You mentioned Wavelore and that reminded me that I'd bought the program years ago but never used it. And son of a gun I found it in a box of old software so I think I'm set.
I know it's not as convincing as the real thing, but at the moment I just need the sampled version.
    Thanks
