Compatibility issue with Kontakt 6

Got this email from Sample Logic yesterday. Apparently, NI has changed the location of per-user data as part of their "this is the last version of Kontakt program". Note that the pdf contains a minor error - "\users\documents..." should be "\users\{user_name}\documents...".

As you may be aware, Native Instruments has just released Kontakt 6. This is a new version that installs side-by-side with Kontakt 5 and will require a few minor compatibility customizations for specific Sample Logic products. Lots of people feel that way, including yours truly. Kontakt 5 was similarly slow to be widely adopted, since, like K6, it offered few visible enhancements for end users. However, NI likes to coerce developers into using the latest version, ensuring version incompatibilities for users, even for minor updates to current libraries, and thus forcing everyone to get with the plan.
 
Like most, I'll wait until some library comes along that I absolutely have to get. But it's just a matter of time. Ultimately, resistance is futile.

More and more I am convinced that the software companies have no more compelling ideas to be implemented in their software! That's why they have to force customers to update/upgrade (see Microsoft, Apple, ...)! In fact software is getting worse and worse, hijacking the user with paternalism, cloud, online spying and endless updates to fix its shortcomings. Is this really future technology? LOL when I see old science fiction motion pictures dated to the early 21st century, absolute phantasm! It seems the future is more like "Mad Max".
