Is there a way to add about 2 seconds of silence on a track I exported to Cakewalk?

Hello,

My friend completed a master of a song we wrote and emailed me the MP3. I exported it into Cakewalk by Bandlab but as soon as I select play, it starts. I was hoping to add a second or two of silence in front of the track. I checked Edit and Insert but I do not see where I can do this.  Has anyone done this before?

Thanks

Project > Insert Time/Measures... or drag the clip to the right. Depending on what you are planning to do, it may be better to start with the wav master rather than an mp3.

Drap the clip 2 seconds to the right. Rewind to beginning ( W ) . Make sure you're in sound on sound record mode. Record a few seconds of silence. Select the track and bounce to clips.

You can also Select All from the Edit menu, then goto the Process Menu and select Slide.  There you can specify time in seconds or any of the three other options.

    Kind regards,

You can also just slide the clip 2 secs to the right then Slip edit the front of the clip back to zero, then Right click on it and Bounce to clip to apply the stretch.

Once again, this is an easy job in a wave editor. There are many free Wave editors and this operation is very easy.
    Wavosaur, Gold Wave, Audacity.
And not sure why your using an MP3 for mastering as said , stay with the highest quality available.

Yep. That's why I'll probably never get away from Cool Edit / Adobe Audition. The wave editing is so dang comprehensive. Just put the cursor where you want the silence and click GENERATE/SILENCE and choose the length in seconds (down to 100th's of a second). Or if you want to make a portion of a waveform silent (like a cough or sniffle), just highlight it and choose EFFECTS / SILENCE and you're done.
