She's Gone-Critique Mix

This is my first mix done entirely in Cakewalk. I finally got my computer working the way it should(with the help of Paul Blanco and musicxp.net). The drums in my previous mix were way too wet, so I thought I'd change the set in my SR16 and retrack. Please let me know what you think.

Sounds great BDF :) I think the drums sound fine. This is a great tune with excellent guitar/vocal work.

    good song !

    how about ...
lowering the volume slightly of the lead guitar and when
it becomes focal (2:54 and the outtro for example), centering it
and bringing up the level a tad (back to where you've got it now).
in some cases it's kind of fighting with the lead vox .. so bringing
back just a bit wouldn't hurt (IMHO).

i think a high vocal harmony during the "she's gone" chorus would
    be cool.

maybe a leslie on the organ to have it move around a little in the
stereo space .. it seems a little stuck right channel to me.

that's all i'd try on it .. great guitar work!

Brian, you can keep posting this tune and I keep listening and enjoying it!

Your vocals seem distant, did you add more 'verb this time? You could try pushing the vocals through a nice compressor. The vocals are great, I'm just thinking the should be more "in your face" to match that great guitar. I say this every time, don't I?

I got my lighter swinging in the air man, rock on!

    Thanks, guys.
    J. Markham- I wish I had a B3. I'm using the trusty ol soundfont organ which, of course isn't even close. Anybody out there have one they'd like to add? gdugan? I'll try what you're talking about on the guitar.
    Dazed- You da man.
Ed- I'm using the Cakewalk reverb this time, learning how to use it still, but I'll mess with it and see what I can come up with. Be careful with that lighter.
    Brad- Thanks man.
    Pluto- Appreciate it.

Nice song. Enjoyed this. Great guitar tones throughout. Only listened on headphones but mix seemed smooth and punchy.
