Newly-imported WAV files suddenly sound tinny in CBB

I've never had this problem before -- I was importing the single-instrument WAV files for a song in a new Cakewalk by Bandlab project and this time they sound tinny, especially the guitars.  I think it is the import process, as when I listen to each pre-import WAV file in a music player, it is fine, and prior CBB projects sound fine in CBB.  What could suddenly be causing CBB to be messing up the sound when importing/playing the new project/tracks?   Has anyone had this problem crop up recently?  Any thoughts appreciated.  Thanks.
 
Update:  I re-rendered the WAV files but this time in doing so de-selected the option to incorporate Acid data, and now all is fine.
