BandLab Assistant Updated To V3.3.0

I cranked up my BandLab Assistant earlier today and it automatically updated to version 3.3.0.

The biggest change I see to the update is the settings screen has considerably changed.  I like the change.  While the app doesn't have that many settings, what settings do exist are easier to see.

Here's hoping the BandLab Assistant update is preparation for another update to the Cakewalk by BandLab program.

Another change is that, finally, yo can exit the program by right clicking the tray icon.

Once it downloads there's a pop-up dialog that appears asking for confirmation that BA needs to quit to update - is your's hidden behind something somewhere?

No, nothing hidden, no dialog. I actually closed all other apps. Maybe I just have to quit BA. I'll try

How did that happen? None of my browsers have been affected at all. Which one(s) are you using?

I only have IE on my DAW PC. When I launched it after the Bandlab Assistant update it displayed the Bandlab site.

IE is nicknamed "Internet Exploder" for a reason. Might be worth switching to a new browser.

Some web sites I've worked with are compatible with everything except IE. Their stats show that so few people use it that it's not worth taking the time to fix it, so I don't know how much of a future it has...it's still on my computer, and some antediluvian programs still call it up, but I avoid it as much as possible.

The first 3 books in "The Musician's Guide to Home Recording" series are available from Hal Leonard and http://www.reverb.com. Listen to my music on http://www.YouTube.com/thecraiganderton, and visit http://www.craiganderton.com. Thanks!

Having Edge as my default browser, Bandlab assistant is pretty much useless for me with Bandlab.com. I can only use it to update the CbB DAW.
Edge is not only a very important part of my home network integration of all computers, devices and Windows 10 itself, it has some very cool tools and become my favorite browser because of all things listed.  And so using Chrome as a default is not really an option for me.
Trying to use and navigate through Bandlab.com using the Bandlab Assistant was nothing short of frustrating and driving me crazy until I installed Google Chrome as a secondary browser, and simply assigned Bandlab .com as my start page and all seems to work out quite well.
I feel it would be really great if Bandlab Assistant had a browser choice in settings to keep Edge as default browser and be able to open the assistant in Chrome, that would be utterly delightful, and maybe less confusing for many?
I’ve been having TONS of FUN jamming, collaborating, and or simply listening and sharing with likeminded musicians and artists from all over the world in several genres of music.
Being able to work with downloading/importing separate tracks to CbB and uploading back to Bandlab’s Mix Editor, and trade multi-track projects so easily is a dream come true for me.
It can be not only endlessly inspiring, it’s a great way to keep the chops up..
    Happy Holidays!

I only have Edge on the DAW and my home page remained unchanged. I have not used Bandlab assistant for anything other than updating Cakewalk so I can't comment on other comparability issues.

I like Edge, but then again I never had issues with IE. I have used Firefox as an fallback if there have been compatibility issues. I have never cared for Chrome.

My computer uses Win 7 and my main browser is Firefox.  Unfortunately, the BandLab on line daw, loops, and many other music making features do not work with Firefox.

Shortly after BandLab acquired Cakewalk's intellectual property I mentioned in a post that I couldn't get much of the site to work.  The response was the site is optimized for Chrome and there is no intent to optimize for other browsers.

I believe that decision unnecessarily limits the appeal and usefulness of the BandLab platform.  That's too bad.

I wouldn't necessarily say Chrome limits Bandlab appeal on a global sense considering it runs on all OS platforms. In that respect I feel it's the easiest and wisest browser/platform choice for Bandlab to operate on for the largest user base integration.
As long as you use Chrome for Bandlab, is doesn't matter what OS or DAW or even audio format bit rate/sample rate you choose to use. Everything works with Bandlab's Sound Editor, which I might add, is a pretty nifty cloud based DAW all in itself which is on par with Apple's Garageband app.
While both certainly have limitations, they are certainly heads above no DAW at all, and I really think it's great that I can tweak a mix, compose loop based beats and rhythms, MIDI sequencing on Bandlab's Sound Editor from anywhere I have data service with my Samsung Galaxy smart phone.
It really makes time fly by at the laundry mat... Instead of sitting there bored to tears watching the clothes go round and round, it's more like "Ah man! The dryer is finish drying clothes already? DAMMY I was just getting my groove going...." Recording samples of the steady rhythmic beats of the clothes going round and round in the dryer directly into Bandlab's Sound Editor.. Need to change the pitch or tempo, add reverb or delay? No problem with Bandlab's Sound Editor! It CAN even make doing laundry FUN!

Until recently I was hardly ever using a web browser on my DAW PC except for a few particular software installations or authorizations. Internet Explorer was OK for that. But I've started using it for other things lately so I've now added Firefox. I never use Internet Explorer on any other computers.

Updated BandLab but after it restarted it hung up and I couldn't do anything with it.  I had to use Task Manager to exit out of it.  However, restarted and worked OK.

I don't know what the browser has to do with it.  Its separate from any browser.  My main browser is Edge and it didn't change anything in it like someone reported it did in their browser.   I won't use Chrome.  I installed it once and it installed a Google Updater and that was interfering with Sonar and causing dropouts.  I practically had to do a clean reinstall to fully get rid of the Updater.  I used Revo Uninstaller Pro that also searches the registry for entries and even that couldn't fully get rid of it.
