80s synth horns

I'm trying to get the 80's synth horn thing going.  Check this fantastic song, around 2:18 or so, and all through the outro

I'm not much of a synth programmer, so I need some help.  I threw down the dough for the Arturia 5 collection a while ago, so I'm sure I have what I need, I'm just not sure how to get there. I sort of assumed it was a DX-7, but again, not sure.
Thanks in advance

That's a stab brass sound, most likely from a Roland Jupiter 8. So if you have the Arturia collection, the Jupiter 8V should have the right stab brass sound. It's one of the iconic JP-8 presets after all.

I was going to say probably the Jupiter 8, Roland's flagship in the early 80's  There are a few other synths from that era that could also do decent synth brass.

I suppose that even a DX-7 could have been used, since that synth was released in 1983, the year before that recording.

This YouTube video goes over making brass stab patches with two free synths, PG-8X and Synth1.

Another popular choice for classic synth brass was the Oberheim, which featured filters particularly compatible with bright brass sounds. OBXD is a pretty good free Oberheim emulation.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Was going to suggest Oberheim, but the OP was trying to use the Arturia V collection, which only represents Oberheim with the Matrix 12, a synth that was released a year after the song he was listening to.  So not as authentic for that era.  Another synth from that Arturia collection that may be worth checking out is the Prophet V.

I really do like the OBXd too!  The OBXd would be authentic for that song's era in the early 80's.
