My rig

My current mix set up Tascam Dm-24 and a Motu Mkii is aging. What would you folks recommend as a replacement? Need minimum of 16channels and a board that will remember mix settings.

If it's not in the mix, it's not in the master

Go to the hardware forum. There are at least 2 threads talking about this topic.
And one of the best sites for researching info is Sweetwater. Use it's filters to list what your shopping for to compare major brands and then read the reviews. Asking opinions on what is best here will net you a very narrow spectrum of overviews.

Obviously since nobody replied. Probably more of a ghost town in the hw forum.

For mixer based recording solutions, the only ones I would personally consider are:

    The Tascam Model 24: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Model24--tascam-model-24-mixer-interface-recorder
    The Yamaha 01v96i: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/01V96i--yamaha-01v96i-40-channel-digital-mixer
The Presonus StudioLive series 3: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SLMAD24--presonus-studiolive-24-series-iii-digital-mixer

...only because they expose all their inputs as separate channels via USB.

Most mixer based solutions only have a stereo output via USB.

    Whereas these:

    Tascam 24: 24 Inputs / 22 Outputs via USB
    Yamaha 01v96i: 16 inputs / 16 outputs via USB
Presonus StudioLive 24: 38 inputs / 38 outputs via USB

You have lots of hours on all or just posting reviews? I agree on the Yamaha. Sceptical on the 24 and the presonus

I think I'd enjoy the tascam myself.

StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen.
I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

Ended up getting a mint tascam dm3200. If anybody is interested is have a dm24 with a motu mkii; all cable, manuals and works with windows 10 if you know what that means. Message me, or I’ll just ebay it piece by piece.

That IS a good deal. People are asking $500-$600 on eBay for the firewire card alone!

For sure. Couldn’t believe it as well. They only charged me 23$ to ship but the store manager insisted on pallet shipping it. The bubble wrap alone filled up the back of my suv. First class!!!
