Previously Floating Control Bar Now Anchored to Bottom of Screen

One of the things I love about going from Sonar to Cakewalk by Bandlab is the floating, dismissable and recallable control bar. I could move it close to the action. But something changed and it's stuck at the bottom of the screen- I can still make it poof and reappear, but now I can't have it anywhere but at the bottom. How can I get back my moveable control bar? Where do I find the controls to control the presentation of the control bar?
