My Christmas Present

Well it is December and as I gather from all the advertising, Christmas is fast approaching.  Here is a Bluesy, silly, tongue-in-cheek, just-for-fun song as presented by the fictional Tampa Fred (guitarist and vocalist of the group the fictitious Freddy J and the Good Guys).  This number turns the tide on Santa Claus and Santa is now watched and judged on his good behaviour.

It is just for fun and I hope it gives you a bit of a giggle.  As always comments will be appreciated.

From one baritone to another, that was "a bit of alright" as they say in Cockneyville. That guitar at the beginning sounded a bit thin though. Other than that, I find no nits to pick.

I wrote a Christmas blues years ago that I've never recorded. You've inspired me. I may just give it a go.

Great Christmas Blues song with excellent lyrics.

You have got that bluesy sound nailed in my opinion + turning the tide on Santa is a brilliant idea.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Good Job!

    Hey, Freddy,

Excellent job on this very cool vintage blues rocker!

Funny lyrics, great guitar work, and your vocals on this one are pure dynamite!  The mix is right on the money, Freddy, I felt like I was standing in a crowd at a smoky roadhouse watching a live, kick-butt blues band.

Super stuff, Freddy, this may be my new favorite from you, buddy!

Hi Bill.  Thanks for taking time to comment. Ya, maybe a little "Growl" might fatten up the intro.  Hey, Christmas Blues, definitely give it a go.  I look forward to hearing it.

Hi Paul.  Thank you.  I appreciate the encouragement.

Hi Daryl.  I much appreciate the kind words.

Hi John.  BB and Albert!  I'll take that any time.  Thanks also for the comment about "It Ain't Right".  BandLab taking over Cakewalk has helped to alleviate some of those Blues.  Thanks again.

Oop's  --- I am being summoned.  Gotta go.

    Merry Christmas!

Thanks James! I do feel a bit sorry for my wife though.  She has to put up with what she sometimes calls my weird sense of humour.  Thanks again.

Hi Bob. Wow thanks for the very kind words!  I have always appreciated your comments, suggestions, and encouragement while I have been participating on this forum. I still very much like the early electric Blues of the 1950's and early 1960's and I was going for that style on this number.  Thank you again and have a very merry Christmas my friend.

Nice bluesy christmas track Freddy! Love how you sing every word like you mean it.
Your vocals are great! Keep pushing your vocals because i can hear that you can raise the bar even higher.

Thank you John.  I appreciate your comments about the vocals.  This time of year every time we get a cold front coming through (It was only in the 70's today) I get laryngitis for a couple of days.  I guess my timing for recording vocals will have to be between cold fronts.    ;>)

Thank you David.  I appreciate your comments and thanks for taking the time to listen.

AWESOME! You play REAL music and speak from the heart. To me, that is what it is all about when it comes to music, telling stories and reflecting on memories and life.
