Simple Man Cover - In Memory

This is not the type of thing I would usually post here, but this song is in memory of my mom, and this song always makes me think of her.  She passed away this last April, just shortly after her younger brother passed.

Since my mom was one who always encouraged me to do what I want with my life, and chase after my crazy dream, I wanted to do something special for her service, but alas, the pressures of real life got in the way and I couldn't do it at the time.  I recently started working on this song, and decided I could find no better song to pay tribute to the lady who gave me this life.  I hope you all enjoy this.  Or to stick with the Skynyrd spirit, should I say Y'all?

    Hi, Robert,

Absolutely fantastic job on this dynamite cover and loving tribute to your mom!

Great playing and tone, and nice job on the vocals.  The video was excellent, and I'm sure very personal to you and your family.  I'm sure your mom is looking down proudly with a smile on her face!

Really nice work on the song and video, and I'm very sorry for your loss.

    Have a great week,
    Bob

Good job on this Robert (one of my favourite tracks from Skynyrd). Very nice guitar tones/playing and the mix translated really well on headphones. Yes, an excellent tribute to your mom.

My sympathies on your loss Robert.

I think you have done your Mum proud with your cover.
It sounds great on my monitors and headphones.
Really love the overdriven guitar tone.

Thanks for all the kind words.  I was very happy that life put me in a position where I was able to transfer back up to my home town and look after my mom for the last year and a half she was around.  Being with her at the end was a once in a lifetime experience that I'm glad I was able to be here for, but it was also one of those that I'm glad was only once in a lifetime.

As for the guitar tones, glad you like them.  Wasn't going for a copy of Skynyrd, more going for my own tone on that, and it is more modern gain type thing using a couple of different Axe-FX III patches that I did myself.  I always tend to go for the sound I have in my head more than trying to copy something I've heard before, so I'm glad it worked for this song.

Wow, great cover. Sorry for your loss.
Flawless vocals and guitar! The drums are a bit dry in my ears, especially noticable in the verses.

Beautifully recorded and mixed and you can tell from the performance you are singing from the heart. Normally I would sign off with - nice one - but this time all I will say is a fitting tribute.
