Cursor behavior

My cursor goes off the screen to the right as the track plays but the track doesn't move with the cursor. I'm still looking at the same 8 bars. Usually I can click in some empty area and the display will jump to where the cursor is but that's not working.
 
I've tried the Pause key but that only gives me smooth cursor movement or jerky incremental movement. 
 
I know this one but I've forgotten what to do?
