Change of Bit rate after closing--->opening project. Please help.

Hi Folks.
Please help! This is scenario. I have a project. I save it as 24 bit/48..... Open it, it becomes 16 bit/48...
I do not change anything in the settings.... Just open and close Cakewalk. In the Cakewalk "audio settings" it still shows 24bit (grayed, not selectable), but in the blue window, it shows up as 16 bit...
Attaching image of Cakewalk / ASIO / soundcard settings. Please let me know what the issue might be...

    The transport module does not show Audio Driver Bit Depth; it shows Record Bit Depth.

    but here is more... My internal audio chip Mic set to 24bit/48... Why is Cake showing 16bit?
    I also connected Blue Yeti Pro (Asio Mic, 24 bit) In that mic settings, it also shows 24bit... restarted Cakewalk.
    Cakewalk still displays 16bit. What seems to be the issue?

    The bit depth shown in the transport module has nothing to do with hardware, drivers or Windows. It is a Cakewalk setting. Read the Record Bit Depth link above.

    I thought those settings would be set by the hardware.
